Apple Watch and Accessibility

Tonight I attended the “Apple Watch and Accessibility” workshop at the Sydney Apple Store. The session explained the accessibility features of the Apple watch and had excellent speakers outline the features for people with vision and hearing impairment.

We were also allowed to play with them!

This watch is a fantastic device. It won’t surprise any apple enthusiast that it has logical features that we didn’t even know we wanted. And it’s a true champion the way it works with VoiceOver. Even with its small viewing screen, it has really impressive zoom features for people with low vision.. My favourite application is the appletv remote that I am constantly loosing at home. It’s David Woodbridge’s favourite, too.

I wont try to give an in-depth review here. Because (I’m exhausted and) Apple, of course, have great information clearly outlined online. But everyone needs to go and have a play with an Apple Watch immediately. Mine arrives in July… hehe!
